“I can only promise we will do our best never to bore you.”
Funicular Magazine was launched in late 2018 with the aim of publishing quality fiction and poetry that shocks, surprises, moves, and tickles. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the magazine welcomes submissions from both Canadian and international writers.
The magazine was founded and is edited by Jeremy Bibaud and Jason Lee Norman, both of whom are writers themselves. Jason says “I have always felt like if I had the means or the time or the opportunity that I should use those to help my fellow writers out. Being published in Funicular could be somebody’s big break. You never know! I just want to get the best writing I can find out into the world and champion the hell out of it.”
To get a sense of the type of work the editors are drawn to, read the flash fiction and poetry already published on the Funicular Magazine website or purchase a copy of the first issues.
Submissions to Funicular Magazine are free or writers can elect to receive a personalised response within one week of submission in exchange for a $5 fee.
