Sonder Midwest, a literary and art magazine dedicated to publishing new and emerging writers, is accepting submissions for its fourth issue.
Sonder Midwest was founded in 2017 by a group of young writers in an area known as the ‘Quad Cities‘ on the Iowa and Illinois border in the United States. Sonder Midwest primarily focuses on publishing and supporting the work of young, new, and barely published artists.
In order to be eligible for publication in the magazine, writers must not have been published more than five times before.
The magazine is made available for free online or printed copies are available for US$12 plus postage.
TYPES OF ACCEPTED SUBMISSIONS
Previously unpublished poetry, fiction, photography, digital art, and other purely original works.
WORD LIMITS
Fiction: 3 – 5 pages double spaced (up to approx 1250 words)
Poetry: 3 – 5 pages single spaced (up to approx 2500 words)
ELIGIBILITY
Writers must not have had their written work published more than five times before. Submissions are encouraged from writers of any age and there are no geographic restrictions.
PAYMENT
Sonder Midwest is volunteer-run and is currently unable to pay for contributions. Support Sonder Midwest by buying a printed issue.
DEADLINE
Submissions are considered year round. In order to be considered for the Fall issue, submissions must be received by Sunday 1 September 2019.
Submissions for the Spring issue will be read from 1 October onwards.
