Woody Guthrie’s 33 New Year’s Resolutions

This list of New Year’s Resolutions or ‘New Years Rulin’s’ was written by Woody Guthrie in 1942. It was two years after he penned the lyrics for his iconic protest song ‘This Land Is Your Land’, though he had not yet commercially recorded the song.

It’s a list which despite its tongue-in-cheek tone in places, or perhaps because of it, can provide inspiration to creative people in every field.
